The data warehouse (DWH) is the institutional database where information about all activities that patients perform at our institution is centralized. The figure shows the information flows centralized in the DWH and updated nightly.
DWH is used for:
- Identify potential patients for clinical trials
- Retrospectively count the potential number of patients for new prospective studies
- Understand the feasibility of retrospective observational studies
- Provide data for European and national studies of artificial intelligence
- Have insight into strategic institutional decisions
- Facilitate the activity of institutional management control
- Facilitate the billing of institutional for-profit trials
Within the project special attention is also paid:
- To the creation of tools for collecting new data for searching and/or extracting data already available in DWH
- To the use of standardized data models (OMOP) for data sharing with external facilities
